Haas UMC-500SS · Trunnion 5-axisRamsey, MN · Serving Minneapolis & the Twin Cities
Complex geometries, fewer setups, tighter true position. Our Haas UMC-500SS runs aerospace brackets, turbine housings, medical implants, and defense components in a single fixturing — because the more setups a part sees, the more places it can drift.

When 5-axis is the right call
Every time a part comes off a fixture, you're stacking tolerances and burning operator time. 5-axis lets us indicate one datum and machine 5 sides in a single cycle — tighter true position, lower scrap, faster turn.
Representative routing · aerospace bracket
Actual cycle time, fixture count, and cost reduction are established after CAM, workholding, and inspection review.
On the floor
Watch the UMC-500SS run a structural aluminum part on a 5th Axis V562M vise. Probing on the front side, repeatable indication, and a finish surface that doesn't need rework.

Documentation to customer requirements
AS9102C-format documentation can be quoted when required. The current customer-approved forms or system, characteristic map, inspection results, and supporting evidence follow the released scope. Plan the FAI →
Renishaw probing catches drift between operations. Critical features measured at the spindle — no surprises at final.
Full mill cert and heat-lot documentation are available to drawing and PO requirements. PMI is available through an accredited sub-tier when required.
FAQ — 5-Axis Machining
19.7″ × 17.7″ × 17.7″ with the trunnion installed. Larger parts route to the VF-4SS 3-axis with a 4th-axis indexer (50″ × 20″ × 24″).
Yes — on critical features with CMM verification. Day-rate production tolerances are ±0.001″ with periodic CMM checks. Send the print and we'll mark up which features will need the tighter inspection plan.
Yes. We're ITAR registered. Submit the RFQ details without controlled files and mark the project ITAR; we'll reply with approved secure-transfer instructions.
Prototype: 5–10 business days. Production: 2–4 weeks depending on quantity and finishing. Rush available.
Send the STEP, drawing, material, quantity, and critical requirements. For a complete package, we target an engineering-reviewed response within one business day; quote timing is confirmed from the actual scope.
